MESSAGE #348 MISTAKES

Have you ever made a mistake?

We all have. In fact, some of the most successful people in history made the most mistakes. As long as you learn from them and make adjustments, mistakes are fine.

“Do not fear mistakes. There are none.”

MESSAGE #347 FEDERER VS NADAL…

Today’s message is especially dedicated to the great Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

Did you see the Men’s Wimbledon Final? One of the greatest matches ever. One of the longest matches ever. One of the greatest rivalries ever.

Roger Federer was supposed to win. He didn’t. He was two points away.

Was is close?

Nadal won 209 total points in the match.

Guess what?

Federer won 204 total points in the match.

It could have gone either way.

Many of life’s competitions are decided by mere points, inches, and milli-seconds. Don’t give up.

Don’t EVER give up.

MESSAGE #346 BLIND 5 YEAR OLD PIANIST

This little girl was born blind then abandoned by her birth parents.

If SHE can play the piano like that at age 5, without her sight, IMAGINE what YOU can do?

Thanks for checking in.

MESSAGE #345 POSITIVE THINKING IS NOT ENOUGH…

Today’s message is especially dedicated to the great Ian Wilson.

I’m a big believer in positive thinking, but positive thinking is not enough. You can’t just “think” that you will have a better body, you have to reflect back to where the problem started.

Here’s what I mean…

Visualize in your mind “how” your body came to be what it is now. Perhaps one day you started drinking a lot of soda and eating chips. Maybe you switched from eating a lot of chicken and broccoli to eating mostly pasta. You also may have cancelled your gym membership. Did your parents give you poor eating habits? Did your friends have anything to do with it?

In your mind, re-trace all the steps in detail, including the actions you took and your words/thoughts. Think about your external environment and people, places and things.

When you do this, it helps you fix the problem by taking action…the correct action. Hope and a positive mindset are helpful, but you shouldn’t solely rely on them…you also need to reflect and problem-solve on your own. Reflection will help you get the positive results you want.

MESSAGE #344 THE SECRET OF SUCCESS…

Today’s message is especially dedicated to the great Genevieve Soares.

Today I’m going to tell you how to become great at whatever you do. I’m going to tell you how to achieve success, no matter what industry you’re in. I’m going to tell you how to stand out from the rest of the pack.

How do people become successful?

If you ask 10 different people what success is, you’ll probably get 10 different answers. But what I’ve found in studying the most successful people in history is this…

Well, let me explain it in a story.

There was this old shoemaker named John. He was poor and one day he dies and is about to meet his maker. He begins to make excuses about why he did not make more of himself in life.

With this he is warned, “When you are in His presence He will not ask you why you were not Moses or King David or one of the prophets. He will ask you why you were not John the shoemaker.”

Not everyone can be famous, but we can all be great. Just be the best YOU that you can be…TODAY.

Have you ever heard someone say the following?…

“One of these days I’ll go on a diet.”

or

“One of these days I’ll start working out.”

or

“One of these days I’ll write a book.”

Well guess what?

One of these days is none of these days.

Do it today!

MESSAGE #342

MESSAGE #341 THINK DIFFERENTLY…

Today’s message is especially dedicated to the great Giuseppe Schiano in Naples, Italy.

What are you good at? What are you not so good at?

As a tennis teaching pro, I see people doing it all wrong. When they practice, they practice the things that they are already good at. Why?

Because it’s fun to do things well.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s important to improve your strengths, but what I’m trying to do is make you think differently and improve your weaknesses.

Here’s why…If your forehand is your weapon, working on it and practicing it will only make it a little better. But say your serve is weak, and you put less time into your forehand and more time into your serve, something amazing happens…

Because your serve is not as strong as your forehand, as you work on it, you will have exponentially greater improvement in it, versus working on your forehand. Not only that, your serve will no longer be a weakness and your game will be more well-rounded.

As a result, this great improvement will boost your confidence and make the rest of your game stronger, including your forehand. Isn’t that amazing?

So use this strategy at work, school and in relationships.

Many people like to show off their strengths, but if you work on improving your weaknesses, you will soon surpass them.

MESSAGE #340 AMERICA

Today’s message is especially dedicated to all the great men and women overseas protecting the United States of America.

“Go, seeker, if you will, throughout the land…Observe the whole of it, survey it as you might survey a field…It is your oyster-yours to open if you will…Just make yourself at home, refresh yourself, get the feel of things, adjust your sights, and get the scale…To every man his chance-to every man, regardless of his birth, his shining, golden opportunity-to every man the right to live, to work, to be himself, and to become whatever thing his manhood and his vision can combine to make him-this, seeker, is the promise of America.”

-Thomas Wolfe

MESSAGE #339 STRESS RELIEF…

One of the best forms of stress relief is exercise. You can go to the gym, go for a run or play some tennis. It doesn’t matter what you do as long as you do something. Ask Michael Jordan…

“When I step onto the court, I don’t have to think about anything. If I have a problem off the court, I find that after I play, my mind is clearer and I can come up with a better solution. It’s like therapy. It relaxes me and allows me to solve problems.”

-Michael Jordan

So incorporate fitness into your daily routine. I call it “preventive medicine” because you don’t want to wait until you are sick or injured to start taking care of your body. And don’t give me that “Well, I’m not THAT out of shape” nonsense. You only have one body…make it work for you and make it last. Your physical health will help your mental health and your mental health will help your physical health.

The next time you feel stressed, do something active. Or better yet, exercise regularly and PREVENT stress.
