MESSAGE #308 MAKE TODAY…

We can always make more money, but we can never get time back.

Make today great. Make a difference. Help others.

MESSAGE #307 HIT THE GROUND RUNNING…

Today’s message is especially dedicated to the great Roger Shapiro.

Here’s what I would like you to do.

1. Take out a blank piece of paper.
2. At the top of the paper write down the word “Achievements”
3. Then, write down all of the achievements you have had in your life, big or small. It could be graduating middle school, getting married, being in the newspaper or getting some type of award.

You can make your list as long as you want and you can of course keep adding to it.

Now here’s how you use this paper.

The next time you are about to do something challenging, like asking for a raise, giving a presentation, trying out for a team or even psyching yourself up to go to the gym…

Read this paper. Look at your accomplishments and you will gain confidence and go out an kick butt!

Be your own coach. Be your own biggest fan. Be the person you always wanted to be.

MESSAGE #306 GOOD ART, GOOD FOOD, A GOOD CAUSE

Yesterday I attended a SHOW Of hands, the 18th anniversary auction to benefit MANNA in Philadelphia. I have been donating some of my original photographs to this great auction for several years and some of my work has sold for close to $1,000. All of it went to the charity.

MANNA (Metropolitan Area Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance) delivers care and hope by nourishing people at acute nutritional risk due to a life-threatening illness.

I was in appreciation walking around looking at all the great art and sampling all the delicious food, but then I thought, “Wow, the real appreciation happens when all the people at risk receive their food.”

MESSAGE #305 THE ONLY THING WE CAN CONTROL

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO THE GREAT ROBERT PERRINE.

The only thing we can control is ourselves…

“Many people have the ambition to succeed; they may even have a special aptitude for their job. And yet they do not move ahead. Why? Perhaps they think that since they can master the job, there is no need to master themselves.” – John Stevenson

MESSAGE #304 HOW TO KEEP YOUR ENERGY HIGH…

A very special Happy Birthday to one of my heros, or should I say “she-ros” the great Melissa Sapio.

You know, many people ask me how I always have high energy. Well today I’m going to share my secret with you…

First of all, I have high energy because I love what I do, from teaching tennis to giving motivational seminars and my daily blog and upcoming book.

Second, it is deceiving because I don’t ALWAYS have high energy, but I always ACT like I have high energy, then I start to FEEL energized.

Also, I have constant gratitude. I can’t tell you how many times a day I just stop and am grateful for all that I have. I even have a gratitude rock that I always keep in my pocket.

Finally, the best way to energize yourself is to energize others. I try to energize everyone I come in contact with, then I get energy back.

I am so motivated sometimes that I don’t need much sleep and some people argue that “yea but some people just need more sleep, etc” but I don’t believe that. I used to need a lot of sleep and loved sleeping in, but now I don’t want to go to bed at night and can’t wait to get up in the morning.

“Enthusiasm will so energize your entire body that you can get along with less than half the usual amount of sleep and at the same time it will enable you to perform two to three times as much work as you usually perform in a given period, without fatigue…Some people are blessed with natural enthusiasm, while others must acquire it. The procedure through which it may be developed is simple. It begins by doing work you like.”
– Napoleon Hill

Energetically,

Ed

MESSAGE #303 ACT, DON’T REACT…

Instead of reacting to what life brings, why don’t you create the life that you want?

If you’re an athlete, don’t just “see how you play today” but have a game plan and CREATE how you want to play. Know your strategy.

Many of us in life are like hockey goalies and constantly deflecting what happens to us, we’re just existing.

I challenge you to be on the offensive line in your sport and life so you can be the superstar and score in the game of life. I know that you CAN but WILL you?

MESSAGE #302 TENNIS TERMS

If you are a tennis player, you know the terms love and serve.

But whether you’re a tennis player or not, you should be familiar with these two words.

True success, happiness, and inner peace comes from loving and serving yourself and others.

“We have a great purpose in life- a great mission, vocation, and calling. We are here to grow, evolve, to reach our full potential and contribute to the betterment of the world.” – Marc Allen

Homework: Go out and play the game of life today but don’t just play, play all out…love all and serve all.

MESSAGE #301 PERFECTION…

MESSAGE #300 TODAY IS THE DAY

Do you have dreams and goals?

What are you going to do today to get closer to those goals?

I know it’s Sunday, I know it’s a holiday weekend, but why wait? Do a little bit today.

Do not pursue the past.
Do not lose yourself in the future.
The past no longer is.
The future has not yet come.
Looking deeply at life as it is
in the very here and now,
the practitioner dwells
in stability and freedom.
We must be diligent today.
To wait until tomorrow is too late.

-BUDDHA

MESSAGE #299 THE BIG PICTURE

When you’re writing down your goals, make sure they help you get to your end result.

Be persistent.

Use failure as feedback.

I think the difference between an average person and a great person is knowing what you want and what the end result will look like. If you don’t know what the end result looks like, how will you know when you get there?

“If you don’t know where you’re going, you could wind up someplace else.” -Yogi Berra
